Samsung Galaxy S10 In-Screen Fingerprint Sensor might not work with cases and screen protectors

The latest smartphones from Samsung was revealed last month on February 20th, and to some tech analysts, Samsung presented the future of smartphone technology and where it was heading. Not only did they reveal an updated in-display fingerprint technology utilizing ultrasonic sound as opposed to the existing photographic or capacitive-based fingerprint scanners, which other phone makers have been using. But they also revealed their own take on the foldable display, which only a few other phone brands have released so far. This, according to industry experts, will be the future of smartphone technology and other major smartphone brands will soon follow suit with their own designs.

The Pros and Cons with Ultrasonic Fingerprints Sensors

To be clear, ultrasonic fingerprint sensors is the way forward for in-display fingerprint technology. The technology is faster at detecting the fingerprint than photographic sensors and it is also not as sensitive to sweat and moisture on the finger. But most importantly, the ultrasonic technology is more secure than capacitive and photographic sensors due to its 3D scanning abilities that are much more difficult to forge. However, according to case maker Armadillotek their screen protector will inhibit the functionality of the fingerprint scanner and they basically decided to leave out the screen protector for their S10 cases.

A Nano Screen Protector is the Future of Screen Protection

The future of smartphone technology clearly shows the need for a screen protector which is flexible and less inhibiting to the new technologies coming out. Nanotechnology is the way going forward if consumers wish to add an extra layer of protection to their expensive handsets. The new Galaxy Fold has a starting price of $1,980, which makes it one of the most expensive phones in the market and definitely worth protecting.
